Trail Name Brown County Trail
Web Site DNR: Brown County Park
State, County, Nearest Town Indiana, Brown, Nashville
Terrain Hilly, wooded, ravines and peaks. A very beautiful park.
Trails The trails are beautiful, wide and well kept, their are some long steep areas but on the main trails it is no problem. We on the other hand opted to do the more challenging off trails (go figure) which are very narrow and steep in places. But you do not have to do the off trails it is entirely your choice.
Facilities The horse camp has 118 electric sites and 86 non electric sites. The campgound is 3 or 4 different sections, it is just huge. They have hitching rails to tie your horses to. There are fire pits, bathrooms etc. We did not stay at the campgounds, but we were there for a day ride on our way to Kentucky.
What I liked most . . . Beautiful scenery, the weather was perfect and you can ride the trails to a little town called Story, tie up your horses and go into a very unique gourmet style restaurant and eat the most fabulous food, all while having violin/piano being played for you by very talented musicians. It was truly unique. And to ride the park with a wonderful fun group of ladies was just the icing on the cake.
What I liked least . . . That we only got to spend one day, there are so many numerous trails we never got to experience or ride.
